I’ve been making doll knitwear for my critter friends from my handspuns! My new inkle loom arrived last week & I’m so in love! I spent the weekend warping and starting the weaving of a simple tablet band to teach myself this technique. The design is out of the ‘Tablets at Work’ book and isn’t twist neutral, hence I used swivels at the warp ends.

My final #TDF2024 efforts. I achieved my first thread plyed fractal and a chunky weight yarn, alongside 4 other skeins and masham singles that are now resting. I didn’t progress much on the cotton but I did learnt a lot about how to spin it. Plus, I got blackout on the TDF bingo challenge card!

Ok, I’m now ready to tackle plying all my wheel bobbins!! All of these are going to be chain plyed to hopefully get a nice light DK weight yarn.

Finally cleared off my craft desk of full spindles, and holy heck! I am doomed to some serious plying hell because I filled up a lot of spindles…and this isn’t even all the spindles I own now…

Visited the Sydney Royal Easter Show today & Look!! The yarn (WOW blend Yzma’s New Groove) I entered into the class for wholly spun & plied on a hand spindle placed 3rd!! Bonus was my crochet handspun made shawl was selected for display. I am so ridiculously happy & proud since I’ve only been doing…
