  • I lost bobbin chicken with about 250g of this fibre to go. However, I am massively impressed with the capacity of my daedalus’s bobbins. These are laceweight singles.

  • Got a lot done on the bee themed paws. Machined lining/claws/pads, installed & stuffed palm pads, completed side seams, & even did all the finnicky finger web seams (my least favourite bit).

  • Before weaving ends in & during blocking. The pattern said to ‘block severely’, so I did; with great prejudice mind you because blocking took 2 hours & almost stole my sanity attempting to get the scalloped edge right because I was not helped by my stiff cast on.

  • There is sooo much concentration happening as I learn how to do wrap & turn short rows. You can see already how the short rows are forcing the piece into more of a triangle shape; the pumpkin marker is the middle where the short rows started.

  • Finally finished altering the bone tail! This was absolute HELL of an alteration as the belt kept getting in the way of machining the zipper, whilst the extra fabric from the zip tape made it extremely difficult to pass the needle through when closing. And lets not forget I had to resew the interior straps…

  • I spent several days prepping these 2 masks by MissMonster. The moffman I plan to paint with shimmer blacks/blues, install glowing amber eyes, and make a hood with embedded rooster feathers. The half snarl I will be painting for my partner (once he decides on a theme).

  • The sleeping bag zip miwaks bodysuit maker found for me unfortunately proved unreliable when I stress tested it with the actual tail. I spent time last year hunting down YKK continuous zip tape & fittings to custom a length, which involved carefully removing teeth from the tape. Then I removed the tail sheath, whip stitched…

  • I’m making up a new paw/tail set for my shop, mainly to get rid of some of the fabric stash. The set is going to be inspired by the Australian blue banded bee. Here I’ve cut all the bits needed for the plush paws.

  • Since receiving my bodysuit I’ve been wracking my brains for how best to install the tail zip, since upon closer inspection & despite excellent communication with the suit maker, the tail port circumferance is 9cm too long (aka was cut oversized compared to info/replica tail base I provided). The best & easiest solution I could…
