I’m only doing a partial fursuit so I made a dtd with shorter arms and legs. Then taped it up to pull a pattern. Many things wrong with this including being too tight/small and the side zipper placement is wrong. More work to do!

Made up the pattern and cut the foam feathers for the tail, shapes based on a raven’s tail. I also carved the pygostyle nub which the feathers will be inset into and the nub will be covered in fur. Next up is sculpting the feathers!

After much frustration where the wool completely rended, twice!, on one of the front panels when reversing, we finally have a waistcoat ready for top stitching. Decided to finish up this small diamond paint before we move house again. Photos are from the construction and later sealing with mod podge gloss. Hopefully the sealer will be fully cured by the time we move so it can be safely packed up.
