  • And now for something mindful relaxing…

  • Finished the bodysuit mockup. It’s mostly perfect as is, only edits that can be done when cutting the fur is adding extra seam allowance around the hip area & using a slightly longer zipper. I’ll add in sleeves once I get more calico. Meanwhile, I need a break from this project.

  • Taped up with the new pads and it looks so much better than the first attempt! After cutting the pieces off the dtd, I transfered them onto butchers paper so I could include seam allowance, ensure parts supposed to be straight were, and draft the crotch into the leg pieces properly. I know most makers…

  • I taped up with the padding and discovered I’d created the dreaded drumstick leg! Oh noes! #FursuitTutorials was excellent in helping me understand what went wrong (knee pads upside down and too small, wrong shaped pads, overstuffing). So I made up some new pads which already look so much better.

  • Started work on my dinosaur bones shirt. The dark colours don’t do my stitching justice in photos! Attached the pocket, shoulders & front facing all with layered flat seams, and prepared the collar for attachment. Plus, I’m never using iron-on interfacing again!

  • Sealed the feet in plastidip before painting with a mid gray base layer and a black top layer, wiping off excess paint as I went to get that mottled skin look. I’m sealing the paintwork using some flexible clear gloss art spray which’s going to take a week to dry between layer.

  • More work on the feetsies. Skin details are done using puffy paint; this is glow in the dark which dries clear as you can see from the sections I did first. The bottle says dries in 24 hours, but some of these blobs are super thick and I’m guessing will need at least a week…

  • This is the second shot at doing a dtd. The first one wasn’t done as well and warped/stretched when I had to be cut out quickly due to overheating, so it was shit trying to pull a pattern from it. This one is much better (although I am disturbed at how much my legs hyperflex!).…

  • More work on the feetsies! I carved out the toe shapes using the dremel and sanded smooth, before using my gas stove to heat seal the foam again. Claws were made from apoxie sculpt, sanded, and glued into the toes. Hot glue is along the toe bottoms as an extra safeguard against toe tears, and…

  • I’m making up a prickly shirt for my fiancé. I am very pleased with how the pocket and enclosed seams all turned out. I am displeased by the collar as I had to basically make it up as I went since the pattern was poorly explained and I swear missing steps. There is visible stitching…
