  • After proof of concept worked, I went to town fussy cutting & carefully, selectively sticking washi PET tape to onto the saddle. Some of the stickers were really hard to get wrinkles out of because of curves in the sculpt, some I just had to accept.

  • Started on the windstone barong pyo. I’ve planned this one around an apple theme & am planning to do some experiments with washi tapes for the saddle decoration.

  • Put the finishing touches on the commission pyo. Using model foliage on a sculpt was new for me, but I’m so pleased with how selective foliage placement has made this 💯 more awesome!

Sadly the horn had got bent when it originally travelled to me, so I have…

  • Personal paint of a #WindstoneEditions pyo to resemble my companion parrot. Painted using atelier acrylics & folkart metallics, with antiquing & wash shadowing in 7 different colours, drybrushed highlights/blending, and sealed with an archival satin varnish.

  • I’m working on a personal windstone gryphon kitty to resemble my parrot. I’m trying to blend traditional antiquing with my preferred wash layering painting style. You can see the difference when I go back with water layering after doing a rough antique to pull out the texture.
