  • Phew, the base colours are done! When you’re painting darks next to a light painted area, never scrimp on your masking as it’ll save you a world of hurt.

  • My partners late grandmother loved loons, so I’m painting up this gryphon as a loon in tribute. I’m also playing around incorporating retarder and thinning medium in my paints, so far I’m loving the enhanced ability to blend & maintaining pigment vibrancy!

  • A little WE foo puppy painted in the likeness of a magnificant riflebird. This little pup was a fun quick paint to do after work. Painted using atelier acrylics & folkart metallics, and sealed with an archival satin spray with accents picked out in gloss mod podge sealant.

  • Personal paint of a #WindstoneEditions pyo to resemble my companion parrot. Painted using atelier acrylics & folkart metallics, with antiquing & wash shadowing in 7 different colours, drybrushed highlights/blending, and sealed with an archival satin varnish.

  • I’m working on a personal windstone gryphon kitty to resemble my parrot. I’m trying to blend traditional antiquing with my preferred wash layering painting style. You can see the difference when I go back with water layering after doing a rough antique to pull out the texture.

  • ‘Sundance’ kirin. A Windstone Editions PYO sculpt completely handpainted in opaque & colour shift acrylics with antiquing and wash shadowing in 4 different colours.   • Painted up a few more figures during the #SydneyLockdown. First is a windstone kitsune painted to look like an amber marbled fox. Next up are two Churches by Homemade Horrors painted using swamp lemur and poison dart frog inspo respectively.

  • Painted up a windstones kitty gryph for my SIL to look like her own kitty. Eyes were handpainted as they weren’t the ones that came with the sculpt.
