  • I present ‘Prince Johnny-Seed’ the apple themed barong. This sculpt was so damn fun to paint and I have lots more fruit themed ideas for this sculpt. I have decided this one is going to stay within my personal collection for now.

  • This has definitely been a ‘trust the process’ project because after the initial antiquing I was convinced I’d ruined it. I also switched some colours around on the saddle and went with dark pawpads/lips compared to the original concept which I think looks much better.

  • Started on the windstone barong pyo. I’ve planned this one around an apple theme & am planning to do some experiments with washi tapes for the saddle decoration.

  • Completed pet portrait. This commissioners companion rock pidgeon was lovingly handpainted on a windstone pyo rock dragon. They’ve already had this piece for a while. I just like showing the wip lead up to the finals.

  • Put the finishing touches on the commission pyo. Using model foliage on a sculpt was new for me, but I’m so pleased with how selective foliage placement has made this 💯 more awesome!

  • I love how with some antiquing and details, windstone sculpts suddenly pop to life! I’m calling the painting done on this now. I’m planning to selectively gloss parts of the dragon to bring out the metallic colours & see if adding some model foliage to the rock will make this more awesome.

  • More progress on the pet portrait windstone pyo. I’m planning to highlight some scales after antiquing to really make those metallic blended sections pop.

  • WIP of a pet portrait I’m working on a windstones rock dragon pyo. The dragon has all its base colours/gradients & the rock has been based on painted and antiqued. The plan now is to layer on some iridescent purples/turquoise/greens before antiquing using darker versions of the base colours.

  • ‘Star Dreams’ windstone pyo gryphon. This piece is based on the Australian female red tailed black cockatoo. Only the females of this bird species have this beautiful yellow to red gradient & the dusting of yellow spots/stripes on their feathers. This one is staying with me. But I will always consider commission requests for windstone…

  • Yes, this sculpt had been sitting on my dining table the entire 2023 unfinished. But no more! It literally only needed some beak/claw/toe touchups & the feather spots/edging. Still a few things to do after a quick seal, but she’s gonna be done!
