I spent a morning making the most awesome whale oven mitt. It even looks like the whales on the fabric!

Decided to start with the knitting needle cosies. I did one vanilla off the pattern, then I started to experiment by adding elastic retaining straps & adding in extra pockets.

Completed American songbirds cross stitch kit. This is a dimensions standard collection kit & it took approximately 130 hours to complete.

I always misjudge how long detailing actually takes, my brain thinks it doesn’t take long because it’s just lines but in reality it can take days. This represents about 3 days of work.

I bought this white scandinavian mountain sheep wool to practice on my gossamer spindle. It’s quite scratchy because of the short guard hairs but also fluffy. I didn’t know how I wanted to ply this as I don’t have a project in mind for it, until I opened my next spin fibre; some black welsh…

Started up another dimensions kit from my stash. I’m quite enjoying this one as I can finish a bird or 2 in a session which gives an immediate sense of accomplishment.

One of my schools office staff is leaving at the end of term for pastures new. Instead of simply pitching in money for an office gift, I decided I make a ‘school key survival kit’ for them as they liked my silicone bead lanyards/keychains.
