  • Had to edit the armholes as well to fit me properly without having weird shoulder overhang. Once this trimming was complete, I finished with bias cut from the same fabric. I also marked out my button holes and button placement.

  • PSA for all sewists. Collar first, then facing. If patterns say otherwise, they are telling you to do it the hard way!

  • Much sewing later, we have christmas stockings! Some of these are heading to our overseas family.

  • It’s almost christmas. Which means I’m about to make christmas stockings in 3 sizes from silly fabric!

  • My American friend is having a baby and since I had some scrap fabrics from previous projects and there was space in the postage box, I made up some cute bibs as a surprise. These are super simple, just sew some scraps together, then layer everything, cut the bib, and sew.

  • Made up 2 baby sleep sacks/swaddles for my american friend. It was a very cute pattern (The Pod Swaddler from While They Sleep Design on Etsy), that I only made 1 modification to to allow for a double blanket without raw seam edges left inside.   • Finished the dino skelies shirt. I’m rather pleased with how nice this looks whilst still being tailored yet roomy. The buttons are small metal-stamped nautilus shells which seemed to go well with the general theme.

  • Buttons arrived so finished up the cactus shirt. Here is my partner being a cactus 🌵

  • It was extremely frustrating attaching the collar and sleeves, but youtube was my friend. Also, I feel that my flat seams need admiration because they are just perfect! Now I’m just waiting on buttons to arrive.

  • I’m making up a prickly shirt for my fiancé. I am very pleased with how the pocket and enclosed seams all turned out. I am displeased by the collar as I had to basically make it up as I went since the pattern was poorly explained and I swear missing steps. There is visible stitching…
