  • Completed measuring and skeining all the spins from the last few months. There are hundreds of yards/meters of yarn here. My absolute favourite is merino/alpaca/camel/silk blend as it’s like touching a cloud.

  • 3 days of work and everything has been pulled off the spindles & prepped for plying. The yellow is still a singles ball as that’s my Easter Show competition spin waiting for the red alpaca to finish resting.

  • All but 3 of my regular working spindles are full, & I don’t have any more storage space to keep going. So every one now has to be pulled off & processed into skeins.

  • I organised my squishy mail from this week & now have to ban myself from buying roving until I’ve spun up more of my stash. My glass bowls from MingoAsho and the tulip spindle from TexasJeans also arrived, and I’m so looking forward to using them!

  • Kettle has decided he wants to do more spinning. I’ve decided the banksia pod spindles max capacity is 100g. Once I get to the last 2-3 lengths of the roving ball the spindle starts behaving like an unwieldy pregnant cow and gets challenging to handle.

  • Since I’ve ended up taking spindles with me everywhere I decided I needed a proper carry case instead of just throwing these artisan tools in my handbag. This custom ordered leather case was from CardGameAccessories on Etsy. It needed to fit my unusually long (13.8-14”) & wide (3.8-4”) spindles and the maker absolutely blew it…
