  • I am planning to do something I said I wouldn’t do … wash some fleeces! These are both local wool from Scotts Creek Farm in NSW. The white/blue-grey locks are traditional Leicester breed. The beautiful blue-black fleece with brown tipping is a Leicester cross (possibly a merino). The bag smells very sheepy.

  • I finished up the red dorset, managed to get a decent yield with the only waste being big matts/nepps. I’m planning to spin this on my new Allen Berry spindle to ‘break it in’.

  • I bought this white scandinavian mountain sheep wool to practice on my gossamer spindle. It’s quite scratchy because of the short guard hairs but also fluffy. I didn’t know how I wanted to ply this as I don’t have a project in mind for it, until I opened my next spin fibre; some black welsh…
