FURSUIT TIP! Thought I’d share how I do paw finger escapes. I sew large button holes to one side of the lining before sewing all the lining together. After stitching the lining to the paw, I then blanket stitch the button hole to the fur. This makes it much cleaner and prevents the escapes fraying…

I am continuing on my quest to generate a ‘perfect’ bear paw pattern. We’ll see how this new pattern test goes. If it doesn’t meet my standards for a bear paw I think i’ll try modifying MissrarsCreatures 5-finger pattern.

Did some work on these paws over the weekend. I have decided I definitely hate this blue fur as it’s so darn slippery!

Trying out insetting patterns and setting claws a different way. I’m also considering re-working this pattern as the thumb position looks a bit strange.

Puffy Paw construction Pt 2 Combo of machine sewing (claws, toes) and hand sewing (insetting claws) resulting in complete top paws. The bottoms are ready for the beans and pad to be inset into the paw.

Puffy paw construction Pt 1 Made some puffy paws for my SIL for christmas. These were all the pieces for the main paws. I used @Kloofsuit paw pattern as I’ve never constructed paws ‘properly’ before and didn’t want to make my own pattern just yet. Previously I’ve built paws over gloves using foam.
