I’m working on a personal windstone gryphon kitty to resemble my parrot. I’m trying to blend traditional antiquing with my preferred wash layering painting style. You can see the difference when I go back with water layering after doing a rough antique to pull out the texture.

All the base colours and shading is done. Next will be to do the fur details around the nose/chin, and the tiger stripes.

I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m painting up my #missmonster mask for the year of the tiger. There’s still a lot of highlights and details to go, but the base colours and teeth are completed.

Owlbear by #missmonstermel painted with reference to a horned owl and a panda. Painted using atelier acrylics.

Windstones hen figurine painted with reference to a silver laced wyandotte chicken. Painted using multiple atelier acrylic washes with apple green pearl ex pigments mixed into the black edging for shimmer.

I decided to do a silver laced wyandotte paint job on this #windstones hen. It’s going to look amazing but painting the feather edges is screwing up my stigmatism! 😵💫

A windstones phoenix painted with reference to a black rooster. Completed using multiple atelier acrylic and folk art colour shift paint washes.

I’m taking some time over christmas to do some figurine painting, and I am super proud of these feet!

Painted up a few more figures during the #SydneyLockdown. First is a windstone kitsune painted to look like an amber marbled fox. Next up are two Churches by Homemade Horrors painted using swamp lemur and poison dart frog inspo respectively.
