Finally finished this damn painting! I really enjoyed it as it was very relaxing to do after work, I just didn’t enioy it taking up space on my kitchen table as long as it did.

Been working through a new paint-by-numbers the last few months and here is a series of progress shots. Finished up this paint by numbers. There’s something about this design that I really like, the colours all contrast yet blend together so nicely. Like last time I also sealed it to protect the paint from dust and fading.

Been working on another paint by numbers intermittently over the last few weeks. It’s interesting seeing the perspective and shapes develop as each section gets blocked in.

Completed paint by numbers of ‘happy’ Venice. Most people don’t varnish these, but I decided to put on a thick coat of JoSonja’s gloss varnish, which I think has generally evened the painting out plus given the canvas some extra stiffness.

Some more progress on the paint by numbers. I’m finding it is really incredibly fiddly and times consuming to do, needing many breaks in-between sections for both drying time as well as preventing neck/hand cramps/eye strain. I’m glad I bought a few more on the sales last year, but I don’t think this is something…
