  • Have been working on this metallic bee colourway. I’m considering doing this scheme again on the same sculpt with the airbrush too to see the difference between painting techniques.

  • I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m painting up my #missmonster mask for the year of the tiger. There’s still a lot of highlights and details to go, but the base colours and teeth are completed.

  • Finally finished this damn painting! I really enjoyed it as it was very relaxing to do after work, I just didn’t enioy it taking up space on my kitchen table as long as it did.

  • Been working through a new paint-by-numbers the last few months and here is a series of progress shots. The annoying thing about this one is that the main blue in the sea didn’t come with enough paint for all of that section even when watered down (luckily I had some spare paints from another painting…

  • Been working on another paint by numbers intermittently over the last few weeks. It’s interesting seeing the perspective and shapes develop as each section gets blocked in.

  • Completed paint by numbers of ‘happy’ Venice. Most people don’t varnish these, but I decided to put on a thick coat of JoSonja’s gloss varnish, which I think has generally evened the painting out plus given the canvas some extra stiffness.

  • Some more progress on the paint by numbers. I’m finding it is really incredibly fiddly and times consuming to do, needing many breaks in-between sections for both drying time as well as preventing neck/hand cramps/eye strain. I’m glad I bought a few more on the sales last year, but I don’t think this is something…

  • Progress on one of my paint by numbers kits I bought recently. Wanted to enjoy part of the school holidays and start of 2020 doing something completely mindless, that I can do in an anal-retentive mindful kind of way.
