  • I always misjudge how long detailing actually takes, my brain thinks it doesn’t take long because it’s just lines but in reality it can take days. This represents about 3 days of work.

  • Decided to make myself up some little project bags. This’ll be the first time I’ve used foam stabiliser wadding, which is exciting.

  • Finished all the main colour & it’s ready for the long-stitch details!

  • I rediscovered my beading equipment recently and have been making a bunch of knitting/crochet stitch marker sets. I’m planning to possibly even make some bookmark hooks. The ones off to the side I’m keeping, but all the others will eventually be photographed and put up in my Etsy.

  • I learnt that if I have lots of spare time I can sew up a single pair of pants in 2 days! 😲 Grey pair is garbedine (to replace a pair that was damaged) & red plaid is pure wool weave. I’m gonna be toasty this winter!

  • Lots of progress on this. Only a few more birds and the roof left before detailing.

  • Spent a few hours in the garage sanding the base foam sculpt smooth. Some foam, particularly thin bits, always get torn during this process…so then you fill holes again & feel like you made no progress 🤣

  • This is such a joy to stitch! I love the variety of songbirds that live throughout America.

  • I’m determined to actually finish this costume piece! It’s now officially in the ugly stage after getting a super thin layer of foam clay to join all the main forms together. Once dry all the lumps will be sanded smooth.

  • Glued up the cosplay helmet pattern (by Mellowmind on Etsy) that I use instead of a bucket head base. For some reason all the seams didn’t want to stick cleanly so there’s heap of filling I’ll need to do using foam clay. It’s also gonna need extensive modification so the kemono mask can be attached…
