Completed cross stitch lighthouse. This came out so pretty, can’t wait to get it framed.
-
Almost finished, just have to do all the detail work. Final backstitching and details are my favourite part of an embroidery because it pulls a whole picture together.

WIP of the lighthouse cross stitch. I haven’t got much to do now & most of the last quadrant is half stitches which go pretty quickly.
-
I was having too much fun and kept forgetting to take a wip photo. Anyway, this is basically half done now…?

Had a hankering for embroidery so I started up this sweet little lighthouse from my stash.

Completed lighthouse paper tole. There is lots of wiring and extra supports to achieve the shapes and layering without excessive silicone use. The lighthouse has plastic behind the lens windows & the railing is constructed from animal whisker fibres. I wasn’t sure how well a photo would illustrate the nature of a paper tole work,…

Inching closer to completion. The copious amounts of mid-ground foliage have been placed & some work started on the foreground fence.
-
Foliage, rowboat, & distant fence added in. I also extracted & prepped the mid-ground fence.

It’s been almost 2 decades since I’ve done paper tole, but I’m really pleased with how this is coming along. You can really see the difference between a flat print and the shaped piece layering.
