  • Completed lighthouse paper tole. There is lots of wiring and extra supports to achieve the shapes and layering without excessive silicone use.   • Inching closer to completion. The copious amounts of mid-ground foliage have been placed & some work started on the foreground fence.

  • Foliage, rowboat, & distant fence added in. I also extracted & prepped the mid-ground fence.

  • Non-zero progress, but golly this is fiddly.

  • I have encountered the issue where I can’t discern between the dark browns. My partner can, but as soon as I lay down a new dark next to a dark colour I have no idea which area needs a second coat. 😖

  • This is the last paint-by-numbers I got on sale many years ago, when I first decided to try the kits out. It’s also probably the most complicated. I’m hoping I really like it when finished as I remember I got it because the design seemed so nice at distance.

  • Aaaaaand, it’s done! Gotta wait for the sealant to dry, then I can get it all framed up.

  • Been working on another paint by numbers intermittently over the last few weeks. It’s interesting seeing the perspective and shapes develop as each section gets blocked in.

  • Completed paint by numbers of ‘happy’ Venice. Most people don’t varnish these, but I decided to put on a thick coat of JoSonja’s gloss varnish, which I think has generally evened the painting out plus given the canvas some extra stiffness.

  • Some more progress on the paint by numbers. I’m finding it is really incredibly fiddly and times consuming to do, needing many breaks in-between sections for both drying time as well as preventing neck/hand cramps/eye strain. I’m glad I bought a few more on the sales last year, but I don’t think this is something…
