  • ‘Star Dreams’ windstone pyo gryphon. This piece is based on the Australian female red tailed black cockatoo. Only the females of this bird species have this beautiful yellow to red gradient & the dusting of yellow spots/stripes on their feathers. This one is staying with me. But I will always consider commission requests for windstone…

  • Yes, this sculpt had been sitting on my dining table the entire 2023 unfinished. But no more! It literally only needed some beak/claw/toe touchups & the feather spots/edging. Still a few things to do after a quick seal, but she’s gonna be done!

  • Spring has sprung here in Australia! Isn’t it just glorious when the flowers start blooming and the days start getting warmer.

  • After being neglected due to work, I’m determined to finish this gryphon off. Completed the antiquing and drybrushing aspect of the shading & feather details. Eyes are sitting in there so I could get a feel of how it’s coming along.

  • Phew, the base colours are done! When you’re painting darks next to a light painted area, never scrimp on your masking as it’ll save you a world of hurt.

  • Started on another windstones pyo, this time a gryphon channeling one of my favourite native birds.

  • Kettle has been hard at work preparing for Christmas. He still has to add the glaze to the puddings & tidy the pinecones.

  • I just realised I never shared my new family member! Meet Kettle. He’s a lammergier vulture gryphon, lovingly assembled by @wormsandbones. You may be seeing Kettle assisting me in my making sometimes. And go check out @wormsandbones, they are truely amazing!

  • Loon WE gryphon. This piece has been handpainted with atelier paints, pearlEx pigments, & finished with a UV resistant satin finish. NFS this piece already has a home.

  • My partners late grandmother loved loons, so I’m painting up this gryphon as a loon in tribute. I’m also playing around incorporating retarder and thinning medium in my paints, so far I’m loving the enhanced ability to blend & maintaining pigment vibrancy!
