Finished some pre-made paws. The fur is super dooper soft and each paw has a right/left label
-
A few hours later and I have a forehead section ready for mask attachment. The pet mesh prevents the fur sagging into the crest rig. The rolled edge creates a more natural looking finish whilst helping to hide the gap between the crest and hood. Also sewed the eyebrows into place along the unrolled edges…

Did some work on these paws over the weekend. I have decided I definitely hate this blue fur as it’s so darn slippery!
-
Finished off all the machine sewing on the hood; zipper install and edge finish. I am never prepared for how many pins a simple task inevitably needs!
-
Trying out insetting patterns and setting claws a different way. I’m also considering re-working this pattern as the thumb position looks a bit strange.

This paint job looks much better than previous, more alive. These are the completed antlers for the jackalope project.
-
Completed snow leopard tail. This is huge (148cm) featuring a gore cap and weighted tip. Rosettes are all hand sewn and has detail trimming to show these off.
-
Whelp, the original gore cap was too large and failed in holding the tails weight up. So I’m redesigning with a single reinforced belt ‘tube’ and I inserted a 3” foam block at the tail base for stability. So far, it looks like it’ll work well.
-
Started work on the antlers using a dry brushing technique. I’m not really happy with how it’s going but I’ll see what I think when I look at it again in daylight

I am really proud of this paint job. I tried really hard to get realistic skin tones and make the teeth look real with tartar/plaque. I’m also so happy that the tongue (@tursowork) cut down nicely to fit.
