I’m only doing a partial fursuit so I made a dtd with shorter arms and legs. Then taped it up to pull a pattern. Many things wrong with this including being too tight/small and the side zipper placement is wrong. More work to do!

Made up the pattern and cut the foam feathers for the tail, shapes based on a raven’s tail. I also carved the pygostyle nub which the feathers will be inset into and the nub will be covered in fur. Next up is sculpting the feathers!

Progress of the crest rigging & updated forehead rest and head harness. I’m very pleased with the rest & harness from #TwinBlueChimera as the mask now feels a lot more stable on my head with the weight now resting firmly on my forehead rather than my glasses! The crest rigging has been driving me insane…

In re-doing the eyeballs I also decided to remake the eyelids. Exactly the same process as before, except the eyelids are now minky fabric that I sewed onto the frames.
