The hinges remained too bendy despite reforming. A big thanks to @TwinBlueChimera who suggested to expose them to sunlight to harden them further as they are a photopolymer resin. Three 2 hour exposures to indirect sunlight and they are now noticeably stiffer and able to support the base mask, as well as mask+antlers, when resting…

ARGH! Hinges have warped!! I think it’s from downward weight on the head top as I was fiddling around with the antlers last night before setting the head down before bed. Dissassembled as soon as I saw them this morning. Have to try to reform them today.

The bodysuit is completed! All seams are finished with an overstitch on the edge and double reinforced, except for the shoulders, crotch, and armholes which are triple reinforced. Features hidden side zipper and binding on all raw edges to prevent stretching. Reinforced holes for the tail belt will be added once the body pillow padding…

Progress! The entire back of the suit is completed. The front needs the side zipper installed before the top gets sewn to the bottom, then both halves will be joined and finished. I don’t have an overlocker, but I have been finishing the seams using a stretch blanket stitch on the machine, so effectively all…

I’m going to sew up the legs of the suit first. I spent literally the whole morning tracing out the pieces, cutting, and clipping.

Finalised the sleeves in prep for fur cutting. The original sleeve was embarassingly too large so I reduced the armhole (old sleeve). This was too small and stretched the sleeve/torso sections. Some slight modifications and I have a sleeve that is tight but not too tight, and doesn’t stretch (new sleeve).

Progress on the sockpaws. The pattern said I could set claws into the darts, but that didn’t work so well as they all ended up too low on the foot and bend into the floor. Something to note for future use.

This is a much better pattern! Look at that range of movement, so many wiggles. A few minor tweaks still, but none that will stop me ordering fur now!

I aim to finish the bulk of this fursuit this year. But first some problem solving. Left is the identified problems with the current pattern/test fit. Right are the modifications to the overall padding and shapes to resolve. Next step is to re-tape the pattern & make another test fit.
