  • *cackles* I managed to get 400g of ‘ice cream’ merino & milk fibre singles on my bobbin. I’m planning to measure off 3 equal lengths of singles to 3 ply with a sparkly silver thread.

  • Eeeeeeeeeee! Look what arrived yesterday! The largest fibre order I have EVER made and the currency conversion was horrific, but these colour ways are just. so. gorgeous! I have no regrets. Fibres are handdyed by Fossil Fibres.

  • Fibre washing day 2 was a roaring success. This time with parrot supervision (he knows “hot” and “careful” means don’t go near things). White is Leicester from two different farms, black/grey is merinoXleicester.

  • First lot of scouring completed! This is 2 Leicester fleeces; one from NSW and one from Victoria. Also had some space in the bags to do some of the dark LeicesterXMerino fleece. It’s shocking how filthy sheep is & the transformation from yellow/grey to white is astounding! I’m going to have to somehow clean the…

  • It’s getting there. I’m going to have to do at least 2 more repeats in addition to the pattern instructions so that the whole piece measures nicely square.

  • Weaving is so relaxing. Turn cards, thread, beat, repeat. ☺️

  • Eeeeeeee! My new comb & hackle covers have arrived. I custom ordered these from Faemorgaine Leatherwork (https://www.facebook.com/FaeMorgaine) and they fit like a glove! I am perfectly protected from accidental stabbing & my tools look handsome.

  • I finally measured all the skeins that I completed over the last few months during school term time. There is a lot of yardage here.

  • Finished red dorset horn waste wool, that was used for packing & I combed. It’s ended up a really lovely tweedy yarn 🧶

  • My final #TDF2024 efforts. I achieved my first thread plyed fractal and a chunky weight yarn, alongside 4 other skeins and masham singles that are now resting. I didn’t progress much on the cotton but I did learnt a lot about how to spin it. Plus, I got blackout on the TDF bingo challenge card!
