  • I am slogging away at the mane piece, which is basically a hand latched kanekalon wig. This is the left side that I finished off, with some pattern adjustments so it’ll blend into the mask fur better. Still have to make the other side and get them backed before installation. It’s massively poofy right now…

  • Miwak’s finished face, although right now I think it looks more like a luchador mask. All handsewn and preshaved, although I might have to do some more preshaving around the eyes before it heads over to the mask.

  • I finally got around to the final trim for Miwak’s feet and paws! I prefer to hand trim using thinning scissors, and with these paws that was the best decision! I’m so pleased with how these came out.

  • Started sewing up Miwak’s hood. There were a few minor adjustments to the ear pattern but so far I’m please with how it’s looking.

  • I have really been having fun playing around with resin embedding. The coasters and some of the bookmarks/tags were christmas gifts for family, and all the flowers are Australia natives I sustainably handpicked and pressed.

  • Who remembers this from earlier in the year? Well, here it is all framed. Honestly, framing always makes anything look 100% better. Doesn’t matter what it is, if you think it looks bad, put it in a frame, I guarantee you it’ll look amazing! This was also super difficult to photograph.

  • First pieces for Miwak’s hood. Decided this time I would only cut pieces matching the section I’m sewing, so I don’t drown in pieces. So far I’m feeling that this project is manageable.

  • I’m taking some time over christmas to do some figurine painting, and I am super proud of these feet!

  • Please enjoy this time lapse of the making of Miwak’s paws. Over 13 hours compressed into about 2 minutes.

  • Finished up the book pockets and drink cozies. Māui came over to check them out and give them parrot approval.
