I am really proud of this paint job. I tried really hard to get realistic skin tones and make the teeth look real with tartar/plaque. I’m also so happy that the tongue (@tursowork) cut down nicely to fit.

Gore end cap for the snow leopard tail. This was my first time doing satin stitch and I’m really pleased at how smooth I got most of it.

A good trick to sewing long pieces is to sew one side to the end, then flip and sew the other side to the end. This prevents the warping that can happen when you sew all in one go. Need to get more materials to finish this off with a nice weighted tail tip and…

All internal issues are now resolved! Notably, chin extended & rest completely replaced with one from TwinBlueChimera sans built up padding. Brow ridges were also reduced as once fur was added my vision was impeded. Problems with crest mechanism resolved allowing for smooth, even movement.

Got all the rosettes into the tail and have cut ‘n’ clipped the rosettes for the other tail half. There’s still some smaller solid spots to sew in after the rosettes, and I think I’ll have to do some fur trimming to really highlight the dark outlines. But looking good so far!

I’ve been experimenting with eye mesh and discovered an easy way to get clear vision without the mesh being visible externally. Sheer fabric is great for creating a seamless look from the outside, but if your vision ports are small, double layers pet mesh in a cross hatch gives you far superior vision as your…

Completed another diamond paint. It’s supposed to have two little figures looking at the sky, but they get pixelated out at a smaller size. Frankly, I think it looks better just as a swirl of colours.

The hinges remained too bendy despite reforming. A big thanks to @TwinBlueChimera who suggested to expose them to sunlight to harden them further as they are a photopolymer resin. Three 2 hour exposures to indirect sunlight and they are now noticeably stiffer and able to support the base mask, as well as mask+antlers, when resting…

Jackalope update! Major hardware is now all installed. Chin has been extended to compensate for glasses pushing the mask out from the face. Gums, lips, and antler bases are apoxie sculpted. Eyes drilled out. Antlers are removable for storage. Jawset by DrakonicKnight. Base by StuffedPanda. Antlers by DVC. Flexible hinges, forehead rest, head harness by…
