  • Over the weekend I made up 2 husky curl tails (pattern by Eastern Dragon Studios). I only wanted one for my partner, but I couldn’t decide on the colourway so I made two. Still have to finish them off. The one I don’t keep I’ll put up on my Etsy/KoFi stores.

  • All the base colours and shading is done. Next will be to do the fur details around the nose/chin, and the tiger stripes.

  • The pattern worked! Made some slight modifications around the jawline so it didn’t overhang the mouth so much and the overall bone ridge shapes were included. I’ve ordered some 4mm foam and worbla to construct the final mask from. Fingers crossed it gets here soon.

  • I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m painting up my #missmonster mask for the year of the tiger. There’s still a lot of highlights and details to go, but the base colours and teeth are completed.

  • 3 iterations of cardboard prototype & 2 paper patterns versions later, I have what I hope will become a successful foam mask. Foam often requires bevels for the shapes to read & hold properly, sadly beveling cardboard doesn’t really work. So I cut all the foam pieces with straight edges and worked out the bevels…

  • Working on Miwak’s skull hat. I have never used cardboard before to mock up a pattern and I really don’t know what I’m doing.

  • Finished the sashiko cherry blossoms panel. I really like this design, so it’s sad it’s not being produced anymore. This was supposed to be a runner for our TV unit, however after placing it on the unit and doing some calculations it turns out the panel is too big to allow for it to be…

  • Finished jawset for the Spirit of the North fox head project. I really like how the dappled top palette really helps to sell the illusion when viewed from the right angle. This has to be put aside now until I’m able to get some more head harnesses & forehead/chin rests shipped to me.

  • I need to get a bucket base inside this mask before foam sculpting details on the face. I’m planning to try to bully this MissRar’s bucket base into it…somehow…

  • Bought myself a new sewing box. Everything is so tidy now & importantly, I can find all my regularly used tools fast!
