  • I present ‘Prince Johnny-Seed’ the apple themed barong. This sculpt was so damn fun to paint and I have lots more fruit themed ideas for this sculpt. I have decided this one is going to stay within my personal collection for now.

  • After proof of concept worked, I went to town fussy cutting & carefully, selectively sticking washi PET tape to onto the saddle. Some of the stickers were really hard to get wrinkles out of because of curves in the sculpt, some I just had to accept.

  • Completed pet portrait. This commissioners companion rock pidgeon was lovingly handpainted on a windstone pyo rock dragon. They’ve already had this piece for a while. I just like showing the wip lead up to the finals.

  • More progress on the pet portrait windstone pyo. I’m planning to highlight some scales after antiquing to really make those metallic blended sections pop.

  • Started on another windstones pyo, this time a gryphon channeling one of my favourite native birds.

  • ‘Superbia orciapis’ WE kirin. This piece is painted using FolkArt metallics, FolkArt colourshift, & atelier acrylic paints, and is sealed with a UV protective gloss topcoat. The colour scheme is based on the orchid bee. I’ve decided to keep this one for my collection but will be painting more windstones in this colour scheme in…

  • Spent all of a morning shading all the scales. Also added in the metallic black details.

  • Look at this cute little face! Gonna shade this once it’s attached to the rest of the bear.

  • Personal paint of a #WindstoneEditions pyo to resemble my companion parrot. Painted using atelier acrylics & folkart metallics, with antiquing & wash shadowing in 7 different colours, drybrushed highlights/blending, and sealed with an archival satin varnish.

  • I decided to do a silver laced wyandotte paint job on this #windstones hen. It’s going to look amazing but painting the feather edges is screwing up my stigmatism! 😵‍💫
