I rediscovered my beading equipment recently and have been making a bunch of knitting/crochet stitch marker sets. I’m planning to possibly even make some bookmark hooks. The ones off to the side I’m keeping, but all the others will eventually be photographed and put up in my Etsy.

Spent a few hours in the garage sanding the base foam sculpt smooth. Some foam, particularly thin bits, always get torn during this process…so then you fill holes again & feel like you made no progress 🤣

The pattern worked! Made some slight modifications around the jawline so it didn’t overhang the mouth so much and the overall bone ridge shapes were included. I’ve ordered some 4mm foam and worbla to construct the final mask from. Fingers crossed it gets here soon.

3 iterations of cardboard prototype & 2 paper patterns versions later, I have what I hope will become a successful foam mask. Foam often requires bevels for the shapes to read & hold properly, sadly beveling cardboard doesn’t really work. So I cut all the foam pieces with straight edges and worked out the bevels…
