Working on a Yip Yip bag to hold errant storage bags in the kitchen. Main body done. Now just need to visit Spotlight for lining materials and google eyes. 😆
This fake yarn is supposedly better for sheep.
Aimed at people who don’t know where wool comes from, it’s 100% plastic. Yes, plastic.
So any garment you wash will release microfibres into the sea. It’ll never decompose.
You’re supposed to believe that sheep shearing is violent and cruel. There are imbeciles out there that work in an unprofessional manner while shearing, but that’s not the case overall.
Sheep don’t suffer from having their fleece removed.
Left on, the fleece can become a home for fly eggs and the subsequent maggots which can eat the sheep. Chemical treatments are available to prevent that happening. It’s much better for the sheep, the land and the farmer to avoid chemical use.
Don’t be fooled. Wool is a sustainable material, one we should make more and better use of.
Take note! Plastic wool is terrible for both the environment and sheep!
SPECIAL POST
Booyah! My tongue finally arrived from Poland, now now I have all the parts to really get to work on K’rahmyteh! So excited 😆
The tongue looks whiteish because I immediately smothered it in talc to stop fluff sticking to the silicone.
I’m still undecided on this set of eyes as they have a slight surface imperfection. If I can polish it off the surface then they should be good to go.
Working on a life sized juvenile dakotaraptor/velociraptor plushie. Almost got all the bits out…
Some progress on the animal sampler. Got bored of only stitching animals or boxes, so I started on the outlining.
Starting work on fursuit eyes. So far I have a heap of tiny ones from trying to use up excess resin. The actual eyes Ikve poured in 3 dome sizes (the last full round dome is curing in the ice ball mold).
Will post photos later of eye dome comparisons for selection for the bird mask.
Finished all the bird christmas ornaments.
Robin, nuthatch, bluebird, hummingbird, bluejay, goldfinch, & chickadee.
(Plus a picture of the tiny bowl I stuffed all the ornaments in as I made them)
Bird patterns by #Squishycutedesigns
Somethings a bit cephalopody! Crochet using a 4.00mm hook and some miscellaneous wool.
Finally got this framed as a christmas present. It looks sooo good now in its walnut border!
