Finished the final panel of the tiger diamond paint. This is now going to be packed away until my mod podge gloss arrives so I can seal all the panels.
Beak has been glossed with mod podge and springs, padding, elastic, mesh has all been added.
Because I have small-head-syndrome and I’ve molded the padding to accommodate my glasses, I had to build the chin rest up n out, hence why the mask is pushed so far out from the face.
One problem; the weight of the mask is actually pressing down on the glasses, so I still have to figure out how to rectify that problem. Although I can also wear it without glasses, I would prefer to see…
Finished painting the beak (look at that subtle green shiny sheen!). This is actually 2 coats of black acrylic, with 2 coats black mixed with apple green pearlEx pigment (outside details), 2 coats black with bronze pearlEx pigment (inner beak), black washes and spatter texture, and 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper to scratch back over the bill markings. Teeth are layers of dry brushed dabbings of various greys.
The pictue honestly doesn’t do it justice. It sparkles much more when caught in direct sunlight.
I actually kinda wanted to do this one scaly for a change of pace, but with that paper about pterosaur pycnofibers being indistinguishable from feathers, I just can’t make a scaly theropod under 2 tons with a clear conscience.
Some more work on the tiger diamond paint. Hoping to get it finished soon!
Argh!!! The frustration! In attempting to finish my resin fursuit eyes, the perfect first set got bubbles. Kinda saved them but decided to redo.
The redo has massive amounts of bubbles around the edges to the point they’re nigh unusuable (trust me, I tried).
The most frustrating part is the second pair looked way more ‘alive’…but they’re unusable!! So I’m now sniffinf resin fumes late at night casting a third set. Pray for me…
After a dramatic fail with the original foot pattern I needed a new approach. #Kaigonathus suggested I carve a foam foot and pull a pattern from that. I’d done this for the pikachu partial fursuit paws so I was all ‘duh!’.
Anyway, here is a carved foot covered in masking tape. Took me all morning to get right and foam is now everywhere. Also, the finished feetsies ready for attachment!
