Finished the bodysuit mockup. It’s mostly perfect as is, only edits that can be done when cutting the fur is adding extra seam allowance around the hip area & using a slightly longer zipper. I’ll add in sleeves once I get more calico. Meanwhile, I need a break from this project.

My American friend is having a baby and since I had some scrap fabrics from previous projects and there was space in the postage box, I made up some cute bibs as a surprise.
These are super simple, just sew some scraps together, then layer everything, cut the bib, and sew.
Made up 2 baby sleep sacks/swaddles for my american friend. It was a very cute pattern (The Pod Swaddler from While They Sleep Design on Etsy), that I only made 1 modification to to allow for a double blanket without raw seam edges left inside.
Māui is demonstrating how to use the swaddle, although he is much too small for it 🤣
Taped up with the new pads and it looks so much better than the first attempt! After cutting the pieces off the dtd, I transfered them onto butchers paper so I could include seam allowance, ensure parts supposed to be straight were, and draft the crotch into the leg pieces properly. I know most makers just use the tape pieces as pattern pieces, but drafting it properly will make it easier to adjust later if needed.
My American friend is having a baby so it was the perfect excuse to make up the fish booties again. This time I also made a selection of different sized ‘normal’ booties for some baby fashion variety.
Finished the dino skelies shirt. I’m rather pleased with how nice this looks whilst still being tailored yet roomy. The buttons are small metal-stamped nautilus shells which seemed to go well with the general theme.
I taped up with the padding and discovered I’d created the dreaded drumstick leg! Oh noes!
#FursuitTutorials was excellent in helping me understand what went wrong (knee pads upside down and too small, wrong shaped pads, overstuffing). So I made up some new pads which already look so much better.
I’ve been updating K’rahmyteh’s reference sheet. Haven’t painted for so long that I thought I couldn’t until I remembered I needed a colour palette…
Buttons arrived so finished up the cactus shirt. Here is my partner being a cactus 🌵
