Spooky blackstitch completed! Only took a few evenings as it’s quite small. Done using white DMC on black 16ct aida in two thread thicknesses (single and double threads).

Non-zero progress on Miwak’s skull hat!
I reinforced all the joins with worbla strips, then sanded down with the dremel/by hand. The friction heat from sanding was an advantage for blending the seam lines together somewhat. I used the last of my foam clay to start sculpting out the details which will later be covered in worbla. Gotta order more clay now.
I’ve now installed the pads and readied everything for final assembly.
I’m now sewing in palm pads unstuffed then stuffing through a horizontal cut near the bottom seam; this gives all the benefits of an easy install & reduced annoying lump from the stuffing seam. The finger pads I will continue to sew in stuffed so there isn’t an uncomfortable lump under your fingers from a later stuffing closure.
Working on a new & spoopy blackwork pattern.
Some more progress on the commission paws. All the fur pieces have been assembled and the pads/claws are now prepped for installation.
A natural coloured bear in progress. Here’s a look at all 52 pieces, which took about 5 hours total to cut and prepare for sewing.
A lot of modifications later and I’m pretty happy with the form now. The eyes are just placeholders until I settle on a colourway design – until then, this is being set aside.
Personal paint of a #WindstoneEditions pyo to resemble my companion parrot.
Painted using atelier acrylics & folkart metallics, with antiquing & wash shadowing in 7 different colours, drybrushed highlights/blending, and sealed with an archival satin varnish.
Sandwiching the pieces and joining together into the mask form. I somehow ended up using 2 pieces of worbla with slightly different softening points; the lighter one needed more heat but the darker one melted really quickly! Have to shape now before adding details.
Commission work. Although this is a simple 3 colour paw design, it actually requires 60 separate pieces.
