Almost finished the paws then the parasaur set is done! The finger nails have piece of thin laser cut acrylic glued into an internal pocket to stiffen the base of the nail. Just have to sew on the cuffs and a tidy up clip now.

Completed cross stitch. This Dimensions Gold Collection kit is called ‘Winter Retreat’.
A fews hours work on the parasaur paws. I must say that being able to do large parts of these on the sewing machine due to the minky really sped up the construction.
One of my schools office staff is leaving at the end of term for pastures new. Instead of simply pitching in money for an office gift, I decided I make a ‘school key survival kit’ for them as they liked my silicone bead lanyards/keychains.
Finally finished the solid stitching, and by golly am I glad of that.
This kit has not been enjoyable at all as it ended up having 15 thread colours undersupplied that I had to replace with equivalent DMC threads. Significant sections in Q3 & 4, and all of the clouds in Q4 are composed of equivalent threads. The Q4 clouds also look different under certain lighting conditions to the Q3 clouds as the conversion thread equivalents were substantially different from supplied threads; I had to colour match as best I could & unpick that whole section 3 times as I worked through thread equivalent options.
Needless to say I sent the production company of the Dimensions Gold cross stitch kits a complaint as this is the worst quality kit from this line I have ever done in my 30 years of stitching.
I organised my squishy mail from this week & now have to ban myself from buying roving until I’ve spun up more of my stash. My glass bowls from MingoAsho and the tulip spindle from TexasJeans also arrived, and I’m so looking forward to using them!
Parasaur paws have been cut out. I’m trying something new with minky fingers to achieve the the hadrosaur mitten foot look.
Kettle has decided he wants to do more spinning.
I’ve decided the banksia pod spindles max capacity is 100g. Once I get to the last 2-3 lengths of the roving ball the spindle starts behaving like an unwieldy pregnant cow and gets challenging to handle.
