Process pics of creating some practice colourwork mug rugs.
I’m teaching myself stranded colourwork knitting because I want to make up a lovely cowl pattern I found. I don’t really enjoy knitting but finished colourwork is worth it.

Finished all the main colour & it’s ready for the long-stitch details!
I rediscovered my beading equipment recently and have been making a bunch of knitting/crochet stitch marker sets. I’m planning to possibly even make some bookmark hooks.
The ones off to the side I’m keeping, but all the others will eventually be photographed and put up in my Etsy.
Miwak’s bodysuit has arrived!
Great job by EasternDragonStudios, the tail port is perfect! Just have to do some tweaks on the tacked in tail zip to ensure a good fit with the tail, but that’s a school holiday job.
Can’t wait to finish Miwak up & take them out on the town!
I learnt that if I have lots of spare time I can sew up a single pair of pants in 2 days! 😲
Grey pair is garbedine (to replace a pair that was damaged) & red plaid is pure wool weave. I’m gonna be toasty this winter!
Lots of progress on this. Only a few more birds and the roof left before detailing.
Final step in wet finishing handspun…thwacking!
Still have to spin/finish the remaining welsh & scandi roving before I measure all the yardage.
Spent a few hours in the garage sanding the base foam sculpt smooth. Some foam, particularly thin bits, always get torn during this process…so then you fill holes again & feel like you made no progress 🤣
I may have gone a little bit insane playing with all my spindles. I’ve got two 4ply plying balls ready, 2 mini plying balls, some black welsh waiting to be plied with what’s still on a spindle, more harmony/scandi/red panda singles, and a merino mulberry silk blend on the glasspin. Suffice to say I’ve been very busy.
This is such a joy to stitch! I love the variety of songbirds that live throughout America.
