For extra security of the knotted hair, I painted 2 thin layers of PVA glue over the back of each knot to create a flexible plastic coating. Then I had to back the wig onto some cotton (after bullying the wig back into shape) using a back stitch and lines of tack stitching to keep…

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realise I can just use the ironing board as a high table, rather than propping the setup on boxes on the dining table and hunching over it. This is high enough that it’s not hurting my back as I do this anymore which is soooo much…

Miwak is coming along fantastically! I’m not going to glue anything down until I’ve finished the kanekalon mane as I’m not sure whether I will have to adjust anything.

I am slogging away at the mane piece, which is basically a hand latched kanekalon wig. This is the left side that I finished off, with some pattern adjustments so it’ll blend into the mask fur better. Still have to make the other side and get them backed before installation. It is done! I finally have a proper ref sheet for K’ramyte. I am so, so proud of this. Created in #procreate, ~65 hours total work. Brushes by procreate, #crowartist, #line_bienkamp_draws. Text is Inkwell, added in CS6. K’ramyte is my own character. Do not use.

Miwak’s finished face, although right now I think it looks more like a luchador mask. All handsewn and preshaved, although I might have to do some more preshaving around the eyes before it heads over to the mask.

Timelapse of colourising the ref sheet headshots. Brushes: @procreate – technical pen, gouache, dry brush @crowartist – textured chunky, soft round, textured painting, feathers1 @line_bienkamp_draws (insta & youtube) – block in colour, block in colour detail, line soft detail

Almost done with all the sketches for this ref sheet. Many thanks to @crow_artist for these awesome tutorials, has really helped understand raven head forms and adapt them as needed for my non-avian dino-esque character.

I finally got around to the final trim for Miwak’s feet and paws! I prefer to hand trim using thinning scissors, and with these paws that was the best decision! I’m so pleased with how these came out.

These are all the finished bookmarks/tags and coasters (except for the one with flashing, I don’t have any polishing medium so haven’t been able to finish that one up yet). Most of these were christmas gifts for family but I kept 3 of the tags for myself. All the flora is hand dried native australian…
