My colleague had repurposed an old real fox fur coat into a patchwork blanket. They’d sewn all the fox hides together by hand but needed some machine help to put a backing on. So I helped her to cut some fleece to size and ran it through my sewing machine.
It looks so good and it’s super warm! I’m really happy I finally got a chance to work with some real animal fur leather. And my colleague is pleased she finally has a functional fur blanket.
NOTE: I do not condone usage of real animal fur for ethical reasons. I have no problem with working with repurposed natural fur items or alternatively ethically farmed/sourced fur hides. Sadly, most real furs do not have ethical backgrounds.
