Apparently only marking one side of the fabric is useless, so I had to laboriously measure the other back panel fastidiously making sure all the marks matched up! I now understand why the instructions kept talking about ceasing both pieces using a Japanese spatula thing…
Of course, there is the other problem about finishing edges. None of the edges are selvage because I’m using western width fabric. I tried to finish off the raw edges on the front panels by just ironing over the massive excess twice – here’s praying that doesn’t now screw up the collar attachment section!
Forget pins and stay stitching, the iron is my friend!
